Old nile hotel

Lively place if you like nature. Breakfast with birds etc is wonderful and staff are friendly and helpful. No luxuries except a washing machine. Shower is an experince as it floods everytime but hey just have a strip wash. If you like a fancy luxery hotel stay away as its cheap basic and chearful. My friend and i dont mind slumming it and we loved it. I wouldnt use the word hotel maybe experience or rooms.

The most pleasant stay in Egypt

I went to Luxor to see the valley of the kings and all the rest of the great historical heritage. Once I get there, as in many places in Egypt, tourists sometimes need people to guide us the way and sometimes leave some trace in us. This was for us Old Nile. Hand in hand with Mustafa we managed to arrange all activities, with personal driver, breakfasts, meals at a very good price for both them and us. Here you can order home-cooked food and I recommend you try your own coffee.
Within the team, we felt especially welcomed by Yoda. The boys work very well, but Yoda was in charge of showing us the mystical side of the Egyptians and the joy it gives off with its positive energy.
The drivers who put us are very safe and nice, we went to Abu Simbel with 12 hours between all the trips and had a great time, very protected in addition.
Overall it was all like being at home, but in Egypt. The hotel garden with palm trees and the River Nile is one of the things I will always miss, it was beautiful to be there relaxed.
If you go to Luxor and want to live it more connected to the place come here, a greeting.

All in all, worth a visit.

We were there 6 days and if you love the peace and nature,then you are right here. In 10 minutes you are on the Nile and its excursion boats. Restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The old Nile is right next to the hotel and many colorful birds can be observed. The staff are very polite and the freshly prepared food tastes very good. It is clean and we felt very comfortable.

Scam ahead

We booked two rooms in this hotel with my husband, my son and his girlfriend. At first we were very satisfied with the setting of the place, with a beautiful country scenery. However, slowly we discovered that the friendliness of the hotel manager and owner, are just a way to milk money from you. They charge everything the triple, from dinner to taxi rides. On our last day we had ordered what they had advertised as a luxury car to visit the site of Dendera, and they presented us a crumbling van with no seat belts after saying that they ordered a van instead of a car to make our trip safer. Finally, to make more money out of it, they didn't take care of the police permits needed to travel between cities, and the driver had to take the most obscure roads in order to avoid police checkpoints. Not only this was extremely unsettling, but also it took us twice the time to get to destination. I will not recommend this place.

Friendliest staff we have come across in our 2 weeks here. Attentive and helpful , great value for money. A beautiful way to unwind from fishing , worm hunting , walking through the banana plantation, sitting in the little boat or loungingaround reading. Our 14 yr old and 9 yr old loved it as so did we .. It's close to everything but yet far enough away to feel like you are alone . highly recommend
