This ride is an absolute classic. It is always fun to jump on and listen to the skipper come up with some of the most random jokes they can think of, not to mention seeing the famous back side of water. Best time to ride is near park closing because there are rarely small children so the skippers are a little more wild.

Jungle Cruise is filled with animatronic river life and guides who tell a crazy amount of puns. ("I'm a tour guide on the jungle cruise ride...Skipper Dan is my name...") One of the classics.

This ride can be great or boring, it all depends on the people involved- mainly the captain of the boat, but also your fellow passengers. Some of the best captains will keep you entertained, laughing, and sometimes groaning, at their jokes and puns as they take you on a tour of the jungle.

The adults will appreciate the jokes and the kids will love the realistic animals and jungle environment.

Watch out for the hippos and piranhas!

I love love love the Jungle Cruise. It's my favorite attraction at Disneyland. While the ride is longer and much more elaborate at Disney World in Florida, the one at Disneyland is better because of the skippers and their irreverent banter. The script and jokes are much, much more edgy here in California.

Be aware that a good skipper can make or break this attraction. If you get a dud, the trip will not be great. Sometimes we wait in line at the dock to size up the skipper -- if it looks like a dud skipper, we ask to wait for the next boat. I usually ride this at least 3 times whenever I'm at the park. (As a Weird Al Yankovic fan, be sure to check out his magnificent tribute song to the Jungle Cruise: "Skipper Dan.").

One of my favorite things about the ride is watching the idiot tourists with their $600 cameras furiously snapping photos of the fake animatronic animals. Ya'll know that's not a REAL elephant bathing pool, right?

In terms of the view, the ride is about the same at daytime as it is after dark. I'd suggest riding it at both times to day so you can decide which one is your favorite. If the line snakes into the second story upstairs waiting area, don't get in line. You'll be waiting and waiting and waiting. Come back and try again later.

As others have noted... this ride has a lot of intangibles that are entirely different depending on the day, the weather, the captain, etc. The last time I was here with my daughter, she totally enjoyed it and I remembered why I couldnt remember being on the ride...

Its CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESY!!! I mean more cheesy than an entire case of Macaroni and Cheese... from kraft... you know the cheesiest!

But my daughter was loving every second of it. So that in and of itself made my day a lot more fun while here at Disney with the munchkin. When she is happy, I am happy, if you know what I mean.

Best of the cheesy lines was seeing the giraffes and having the Captain yell out, "WATCH OUT FOR THE LONG NECKED CHEETAHS!" hahaha yeah cheesy, but in a good way...

Awesome for my daughter, not as awesome for me, but I will be back becuase she will want to go again. =)

Disney's Jungle Cruise is a fun, slow boat ride through an animatronic jungle, it would be a very calm and quite ride, if not for the "captain" that tells mostly (if not all) scripted jokes about the different animals and landscapes you see, these are mostly bad puns, bad depending on the guy/gal "driving" it can be pretty darn funny.
Best of all, you get to see the ever elusive "back side of water!"

Disney's Jungle Cruise is either hit or miss. A lot of the experience has to do with connecting with the tour guide. The right one could make the experience grand or just plain suck.

The ride takes you through a twisty river. You get to look at "animals" while the guide makes silly jokes. It's great for groups and kids, but be wary of the line. I've walked in and then right out, but that's because I refuse to stand in a line more than 45 minutes.

The Jungle Cruise is a great ride for those who love bad jokes. Although this boat ride through various African and Indian environments may have once been serious, it's become a sort of hipster parody of itself. Each boat guide spices up the dialogue with their own jokes.
