Blink and you'll miss the narrow entrance to this "pasaj" - a narrow alleyway/shopping arcade that leads to a large, open-air tea garden inside the courtyard of a historical building. All around the edges are independent bookstores (both new and second-hand) while the passage itself is filled with vendors selling jewelry and antiques. Once you enter the courtyard, sit down at any of the low narrow tables and a waiter will spot you almost instantly to offer cheap tea, coffee, or sandwiches. A great spot to sit and chat with friends in a historical and unique atmosphere. There are two main cafes here; one off to the side (across from a second-hand bookstore) while the main one takes up most of the courtyard and has a second floor with a balcony if you want a different view point.
Quite crowded and lively on the weekends. Look for a narrow entrance next to a nightclub on the opposite side right after Galatasaray High School.
