This hotel feels warm and wintery with carpeted floors and large family rooms. They were quick to serve me tea upon entrance and the staff was nice. If it’s your second or third time in Istanbul and you’d like to redress a little, but not too far, from the Sultanahmet area this is a good choice. Also for conferences and meetings especially that they have a dining restaurant at the hotel and Spa and Turkish Hammam options. It is near Aksaray Tramway station and the area is known for tourist shoppers, so many options around to fill up your suitcase with Turkish goods quickly.
A large hotel with good facilities such as a spa and hamam (Turkish bath). The hotel is nicely done up, but the room décor looks a little bit dated and tired although it’s generally clean and comfortable. I think this hotel is very much aimed at the business market and if you’re travelling as a tourist I wouldn’t recommend it. Not because it’s bad, but because for a similar price you can find hotels much closer to the excellent sights of Sultanahmet or the equally excellent nights out of Taksim. Having said that, there is a tram which goes to both Sultanahmet and will help get you to Taksim, it just take a bit more journeying.
Mirilayon Hotel is a high standard city hotel with many amenities that could not be deduced from its exterior. It is in Laleli, close to Sultanahmet and the expo centres around Ataturk airport – and the airport itself. The hotel rises in a quiet corner of the district, removed from the main road, hence the noise and traffic. Its rooms are comfortable, smartly decorated and well-kept. The hotel has two restaurants where breakfasts and dinners are served.
What else can’t be told from its exterior is that Mirilayon offers quality SPA and wellness services. The hotel has a Turkish bath (hamam), a sauna, a fitness centre and a steam room. The massage menu includes Thai and Bali massages as well as peeling and regular Turkish bath massages.
