This is an excellent budget option in the center of the old city. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, which is not always the case in Istanbul. You could tell that they were putting the extra effort in. I was brought complimentary tea just because I was in the lobby.
While the lobby and the hotel in general are somewhat tacky, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and they get the job done. The terrace at the top has amazing sunset views of the Bosphorus.
The location is also very good: close to the tramway, but far enough away for that not to be a noise issue. The major attractions of the Old City are within walking distance: including Suleymaniye Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. The streets next to the hotel are populated by outlet clothes shops. If you’re on a budget and want to live in the Old City, this is a great option.
