They used to have a piano bar. Fun for singing on Thursday nights. Don't know whether they still do that.

When I entered this tiki bar and restaurant, I felt as though I had been transported back to a 1950's Elvis movie. This is the real deal. It is kitsch come-to-life with puffer-fish lights, crazy tiki statues and lots of bamboo and fairy lights.
The views over the marina are fabulous. The clientele appeared to be mostly locals - this place isn't widely know by tourists. The food and drinks are pretty good and are reasonably priced. That however, isn't really why you come here - it is all about the vintage Hawaiiana ambience and puffer-fish lights!

A visit to La Mariana is a MUST!! You can feel the history when you enter this quaint place surrounded by truly vintage tikis, puffer fish lamps and other historic decor. You can almost hear "Blue Hawaii" echoing from the walls as this was used in at least one Elvis film. Try the Mai Tais, they're some of the best around. You'll want to hana hou!

The best of "Old Hawaii". A real 1950's restaurant and bar. Remains as Hawaii was in 1950's, thatched roof, puffer fish lights, tiki posts, home made Koa, bamboo, & rattan decor. NEAR AIRPORT---great place to wait between group arrivals. This is the place you will tell your friends about. Not for those who like modern decor or menu.

This is alway a must stop for appetizers and the best Mai Tai on the Island. Local place very few tourist. Found out about the place from and episode of "No Reservations" this is last stand original Tiki Bar on the Island it is like stepping back into the 1950's. Located in a working marine area just a few miles from the airport it can be difficult to find but worth the effort. The staff is friendly and very Hawaiian laid back so it you one of those people how wants quick service and a shiny new place this is not for you. However, if you want to experience a true old fashion working class bar with nice friendly people and none of the tourist Honolulu vibe then make sure to stop by have a Mai Tai watch the sunset and enjoy the Poke and Kalua Pork Nacho's.

If you love tiki bars and mid-century modern kitsch, then make La Mariana your first (or last stop) on Oahu after you arrive at Honolulu's airport. Practically hidden in an industrial area near the docks, this little bar faces a marina where yachties and local fishers tie up. Strong drinks, peaceful water views and hardly ever another tourist in sight. Popular with local business types for a liquid lunch, too.

With a Hawaiian traditional tiki bar touch, this place is hard to find unless you're actively searching for it... and it's worth the effort to get a piece of history. This restaurant/bar has been around for awhile and has survived time and tsunamis. It's a good spot to bring out of towners to experience something a bit different than regular chain restaurants. The location just a few feet from the marina and in line for a sunset, makes for a nice late afternoon visit. Cajun ahi, BBQ ribs, and mahi mahi Florentine were the selections made when my mainland guests rolled into town, as this shop is a convenient stop from the airport into town. We added some edamame with garlic as an appetizer. All of the above were very tasty and the portions quite satisfying. None of us sampled the alcohol offerings, so no comment on the quality of drinks, but rumored to be very good. Not the most inexpensive dining, but overall good value. Staff were generally pleasant. There was a piano player that was very good addition to the evening experience.
-- Parking is in a small lot adjacent to the restaurant, but free street parking is more likely to be available.

One of my local friends brought me to La Mariana Sailing Club for dinner when I was visiting Oahu. The place was pretty empty for a Tuesday night. The food was just ok, a bit on the bland side. I ordered a pasta dish with fish, but nothing to write home about. The drinks were decently priced.

Aside from the mediocre food, the atmosphere is pretty intimate, especially with the lights in the evening. This is a good place to come after work or just for drinks. Too bad there wasn't anyone playing the piano when we went!
By the way, they used a Patron bottle as a vase in the ladies room (yes I'm easily amused!).

WELCOME TO THE LAST ORIGINAL F$%^ING TIKI BAR IN HAWAII!

If there is one place, one bar/restaurant that captures WAYDE'S WORLD HAWAII....THIS IS IT! A Poor Man's Paradise lost and captured in time to the days of old. This nostalgic and "ONE OF A KIND" true TIKI BARS in Hawaii is found on Sand island, not far from the Honolulu international Airport. There are VERY FEW Tourists that know of it's existence.

This BAMBOO, RATTAN AND TIKI FILLED dive bar is a super chillaxin creepy tiki bar. Creepy in an AWESOME KINDA WAY! This place takes you 60+ years into the past and it never grew old...It's been captured and FROZEN in time...You walk in there and this is what Hawaii looked like back in the 50's, leaky roof and all! I LOVE IT!!!

This place is THE GEM of OAHU and the last and oldest true TIKI BAR in Hawaii. This place doesn't have good service or good food, it's a dive, SO GET OVER IT!

What it does have is the BEST atmosphere, the BEST pupu's such as my FAV, "THE PUPU SAMPLER" and the BEST and STRONGEST drinks around. That is what this place is all about and known for! You guys need to order ZOMBIE DRINKS ALL NIGHT and GET LIT, just make sure one of you can drive. The atmosphere is so FRIGGIN classic it truly brings you back before any of us had been born. Time stands still here. The real parrots linger from downstairs to upstairs, puffer fish lights hang from above and a waterfall inside at the back of the bar just makes it overkill, that's when it's working... which I just love. If you look close enough there are nude pictures and wooden carvings everywhere toward the back section of this place. If you happen to come here on a night when there is live music you are going to be in for a FREAKY TIKI TREAT, from Blind Folks who can JAM LIKE HELL to Old Farts doing their best to keep a high note, to the very special evenings when you are graced by one of the truly greats and classic Hawaiian singers of their time. I just don't really have anything bad to say about this place because it is what it is and that is what life is all about! Moments caught in time, where everything stops and you can just feel, smell and see you are NOT in 2012!

NOTE: It IS easy to miss the turn to this place so make sure you know where you are going and watch for the little hand painted sign on your right side. Actually coming upon this place can be scary, more like an industrial park, You will say: "Where the hell am I?' Don't worry...you're at the right place...look around, take pictures...and if you go during a weekday, you should have no problem finding a table for 2 toward the front near the water, where you can see the Marina. That is where I always sit unless I go on a busy night when they are playing live Music. Keep your eyes out for the little guys...watch for dem Green Geckos looking to sip the dew from your ZOMBIE DRINK. Pass on some ALOHA their way for me will yeah!

So Overall it breaks down like this:
5 STARS for the Actual location on the Marina and the Décor and Ambience.
5 STARS for the DRINKS and PUPU'S
As long as you DON'T order ENTREES and CAN DEAL with the sometimes DIVE LIKE Service you would expect from a, TIKI DIVE BAR LOST in the 50's, you won't BITCH about anything...lol.

Hey, Locals don't come here for the Dinner menu or the Slow Service, and you should know that before you walk in this place, plan on spending some time here...I do and so I have a FRIGGIN FLIPPIN GOOD TIME, Half in the Bag on ZOMBIES, as I trip over myself to make my slow approach to the john for my first flush of the night. It's hard after having 6 Zombies, but I do my best to reach the crapper in a graceful fashion, plus, who else would notice...everyone's drunk!

Someone below gives this place a one star...I won't say who it is...lol...I'm sure you all can figure it out...Her review is HALF A$$ and her passion for her reviews are LACKING EVERYTHING. For someone who goes here all the time...Let me finish with this:

If you come here for Dinner...NOT THE RIGHT MOVE!
If you come here for the Service...YOU'RE NOT SO SMART IN THE HEAD!
If you come here without understanding the immense history of this Historical location and what it has survived through over the past 60 years and how hard the late owner worked to keep this place open time and time again before she passed away...MAN, YOU ARE A PRETTY IGNORANT PERSON!

It's a convenient stop from/to the Airport & Waikiki... old, vintage Hawaii atmosphere. Ambience is nice looking out to sail boats. I believe Anthony Bourdain visited here and raved about the Tiki drinks. Prices are reasonable $8-$15 dishes.

Having been several times, I've noticed a constant trend - service has always been slow... so just enjoy the company you are with. Also, management is RUDE!!!
