Long before iPhones, photographers used to take pictures with ACTUAL cameras -- using film! This privately-funded cultural "destination for photography" uses state-of-the-art, high definition technology as well as classic prints to showcase some of the world’s most-renowned and emerging photographers in the world of fashion, film, sports, nature and culture. In addition to the free exhibits, they also host lectures and workshops.

This is a wonderful photography gallery that showcases different facets of photography from nature to portraiture, commercial and everything in between. Admission is free and there are often films accompanying the exhibition with interviews with the photographers and additional commentary. The space is small but curated really well and it's across from the century city mall so you could go see a movie or grab something to eat right after.

Featuring a regular rotating selection of photography exhibits, this is a nice place to swing through Nd spend an hour or so. The exhibitions are never large because the space is small but well worth it and it is free. I try to see almost ever exhibit here.

What an absolutely gorgeous space. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile, and finally got a chance to visit this past weekend when I realized it was the last week for the National Geographic exhibit.

It's a MUST-SEE.

Parking is on Constellation St and when validated on weekend it's only $1!

There was a small line to get into the exhibit but I didn't have to wait too long.

We watched the documentary first, and the production value and message of the video was so moving that I was on the verge of tears the whole time. It was so touching!

The photographs themselves were amazing as they weren't confined in a frame but wallpapered on to the wall in a collage so you can get up close to them.

I can't wait to go back again to visit another exhibit :D

The photographs in the National Geographic exhibit are exquisite. Such inspiring photography. There is also a screening of a documentary that follows National Geographic photographers as they work across the world.

So one of my friends who does some photography as a hobby really wanted to go see the Annenberg Space for Photography. A bunch of us also like to shoot pictures now and then and in conjunction with free museum in LA weekend, well off we went…

This is a small place but definitely it is extremely interesting. There were about 150 photographs on display while we were there. However that is not the primary thing here. Somewhat surprising I am sure. I most definitely was.

Pro Tip: Park at the westfield mall where they have 3 hrs free parking until 2.11.13 and its $1 after that for 3 hours.

The main item here was a movie that chronicled the entire story behind the photos that were on display and showed how and where some of the photos were taken. They had some round seats that allowed you to rest while watching the film. I did enjoy the film quite a bit. However I wanted to see more photos of the various things captured.

Pro Tip #2: The bathrooms were clean, well lit, and very nice for a public facility like this.

They also have a water handout area with couches and a whiteboard for kids to draw on. This makes for a great munchkin activity place and allows the parents to check out the photographs.

I just really wish that there were a lot more pictures posted. I really liked some of the ones there, but I would have loved to have seen another 50 or 100 pics. Some of the photos and the movie were extremely fascinating.

I think I will return to see future exhibits and perhaps see if by some random chance I could someday get some of my photos displayed there… perhaps that would be the how not to shoot pictures exhibit… =P

I've only been here once, but the exhibit I saw was provocative and beautiful. They managed to fit a lot of great content in such a small space and admission is free so it's worth stopping by if you find yourself in Century City.

First stopped by the Annenberg Space for Photography for the "Beauty Culture" exhibit last year and instantly loved the space. We most recently stopped in for the "Who Shot Rock & Roll" which we really enjoyed. Entry is free - you can't beat that! This is such a great place to enjoy and hour or two. I'd highly recommend checking out Who Shot Rock & Roll and keep an eye out for their future exhibits. They aren't open Monday or Tuesdays and close at 6P most evenings, other than Saturday when they are open until 9P. Great space to visit alone, with friends, kids, or even a date - there's something sexy and sophisticated about the space. Enjoy!

This is a neat little space dedicated to photography exhibitions. They switch out the exhibitions quite a few times a year so it's definitely worth repeat visits every few months.

Kind of a strange place to house exhibit space but the visual use of technology and standard photography was really interesting. Worth a look and I believe free? Double check that.

The Annenberg Space for Photography is a wonderful gift from the Annnenberg family to the city of Los Angeles. It's dedicated to photographic arts-- film and digital and located right by the Westfield in Century City.

Came here on a day date with K-- it was a wonderful place to spend an hour or two and check out some seriously cool stuff. The current exhibition is aptly titled, "L8S ANG3LES." Demos the work of a collection of famous photographers who specialize in shooting Los Anegeles and what it means to them from their perspective. It's a very interesting way of looking at some of the history of Los Angeles, some of the impacts we put forth as a city, and unique perspectives we have to offer.

Quick hit thoughts:
- make a picnic out of it.. there's a nice grass area down the steps from the mezzanine that you can hang out and enjoy some time at too.
- did i mention tihs place is FREE? there's a $1 dollar validation on weekends, but that's about all you have to pay.
- parking is a little tricky, you actually park in an adjacent building and have to come up from the underground parking and walk across a building and some steps.
-L8S ANG3LES is running till the end of June!
-After that, it'll be home to the "Pictures of the Year International" contest winners.
-And after that (late oct i think?), a special exhibition dedicated to sports and athletes~

This museum is hidden within Century City’s tall buildings. You actually need to park in the structure for the tall buildings and take multiple escalators up to the museum. Admission is free, and with validation, parking is only $1. Although the museum is small, you can spend a good 1.5-2 hours here. The entire museum focuses on a theme, so exhibits change constantly. In addition to the photo prints lining the walls, you can also watch a half hour movie in their theater which highlights the current theme.
