My family calls this the "orchid garden." This is one of my all time favorite places in all of San Diego.

Balboa Park has a museum and experience for everyone. The Botanical Garden is set in a soaring Arbor with a reflecting pond in the lawn. As beautiful as it looks .

It is always free to visit here. The lily pond is what I usually think of when I think of Balboa Park so it is always so nostalgic to see it. I have been coming here since I was probably a baby. It is great to bring the family here to take pictures.

A world wide recognized view is the lily pond and lagoon and The Botanical building. It's one of the most photographed area in Balboa park. I've seen engagement pictures being taken, and wedding pictures. What's nice is that it's a free and educational. The plants are beautiful and labeled.

I feel like I'm walking into Jurassic Park in here, minus the dinosaurs. Lots of plant species.

Botanical garden is part of Balboa park. It's so beautiful inside, lots of different plants, flowers esp orchids. It's definitely a photographers dream. It's also on of the free museums in SD. It's such an iconic place, it's postcard perfect when you take its pic♡ Makes me proud to be San Diegan!

There's so much to Balboa Park, I wanted to recommend just this small slice of it. First, it is free to anyone (a lot of the park attractions are free to locals on Tuesdays), all the time. The reflecting pool is massive and home to koi fish and turtles. You can especially see them if you stand on the bridge.

The botanical building itself is almost as interesting as it's contents. It was part of the 1912 California Exposition (a big fair) and the woodwork and architecture are seriously interesting. Inside, there are a bunch of neat looking plants that I know nothing about. I like how it feels like the jungle with vines, and tree growing up the walls. This makes a great distraction if you are nearby, and would be great part of a day-trip to the park.

ocated in Balboa Park. This place is awesome!

So many pretty flowers and plants to see. I loved it! My favorite was probably the orchids. There were so many! and they were all gorgeous!
The outdoor koi and lily pond is beautiful too!
Come during the Spring/Summer!

Best part is it's absolutely FREE.
Parking was a breeze as well.

I've been coming to the botanical building and lily pond since I was a child. It's a gorgeous sight and a must-see in balboa park! Walk through the botanical building to view exotic plants or enjoy the serene view if the koi fish in the pond!

This is arguably the most beautiful spot in Balboa Park. It is stunning. The botanical garden is free to the public, so there is no reason not to check it out while visiting Balboa Park!

A memory of times past. The bastion of our experiences. What remains of ourselves when these times turn to dust in our hands? Maybe all we are are a million little gods causing rainstorms, turning every good thing to rust.
