A small gem of a place to stay.

Located right next to the aquaduct, the hotel is convenient for walking around Kavala. The hotel is small, the room is large and very comfortable, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. All their recommendations were great.

Homely or rather Philoxenia

Most amazing people from the receptionist who hopped in the car with me to show me the way around the block and then whent on to take all my bags in one go up the stairs, to the cleaning staff who take care of the indoor plants and nurture them in their own time. They were all friendly and I would say, almost like family welcoming you to a reunion. I would most certainly be back there.

Nice place to stay in the center of Kavala

Very pleasant stay. Right in the center of Kavala on walking distance from the castle, the marina and from many many restaurants around.
Very clean facilities. Very nice and friendly stuff. Comfortable beds and quiet place. Perfect breakfast.

Excellent hotel

Amazing hotel with incredible amenities, as if you were at home! Spotlessly clean room, the staff very kind and willing to serve. Rich and thoughtful breakfast. Very good location, almost 5 minutes walk from the center. If I was in Kavala again I would go again. I absolutely recommend it.

Super location and 5-star service

We chose this hotel mainly for its perfect location. It is within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Kavala—aqueduct, old town, fortress, marina, Archaeological Museum, Tobacco Museum, Mehmet Ali House—and close to many fine restaurants as well. We had a suite, and enjoyed the extra space, lovely bathroom, kitchenette, small balcony, abundant outlets, and comfortable bed. The staff was wonderful. Maria gave us a map of Kavala, and spent a long time pointing out sights and recommending nearby restaurants. All the staff were super-helpful, and even gave us gifts on arriving and leaving.
The breakfast was individually packed in a basket for us to take up to our room, a practice left over from Covid days. The amount of food was very generous, with a wide variety of tasty items. We could never finish it and often had leftovers for lunch. We had to make our own coffee, and felt compelled to wash all the breakfast dishes, though, so it was a bit more work than a regular buffet.
The only downside to the hotel was the lack of elevator, and the need to use a long, winding exterior staircase, which would have been slippery when wet. We managed, but anyone with mobility challenges should definitely request Room 1 on the first floor, or choose another hotel. We were also surprised that the bathroom had no bar soap or towel bars, but that was a minor complaint.
We loved The Anthemion House and would definitely stay there again.
