Outstanding Establishment

Well, what can I say?
Visited this delightful establishment for an impromptu afternoon of drinks and a light finger buffet. The food was delicious and quite simply, wonderful . Such lovely staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. A particular mention must go to the delightful Sue and enchanting Tegan. Such wonderful ladies and a delight to be around. Thoroughly recommend a visit and would not hesitate to recommend the Duke William for your afternoon tipple or a light bite.

Lovely staff, great pub, dog friendly & well priced drinks!

Received a lovely warm welcome from all the staff and the drinks were well priced and excellent quality! Sue & Caroline who run the cafe were exceptionally friendly and even brought our little dog a sausage and treats from the bar - even though their shift had finished and they were meant to be on their way home! This is a beautiful, friendly pub which we are really glad to have found on our walk from a nearby campsite. We will most definitely be back and will tell others about it - thank you so much for making us feel so welcome!

Endorces illegal hunting

I stayed here one and as nice as my overnight stay was, I would never stay there again, as I've recently heard they have hosted their local hunt
Like it or not, hunting with hounds has been banned for years and many hunts are exploiting loopholes to hunt ipxes and hares llegally.
I personally wouldn't stay anywhere again who endorses this behaviour.

Customer service complaint

The staff were just plain rude and ignorant.
I went to the bar with my wife and there was a lady stood behind the bar with her back to me on a private phone call.She saw that I was waiting when she moved a a few steps away but never once acknowledged me.There was also a man sat at the bar who obviously worked there doing his paperwork sat at the bar.Once again he did not acknowledge us at all.
The pub was almost empty with only one family sat down in the corner.
We waited patiently for two minutes then decided to leave !
We intended to order drinks and a meal too.
My wife was appalled at this poor service and vowed never to go ever again.

Lovely meal

Went for a meal . The steak and wine deal was excellent. Steaks were cooked exactly as we asked them to. Sausage and mash was also top quality. Service was faultless. Would highly recommend this restaurant. There was also a large group of about 18 so they are able to cater for groups .
