Most amazing hotel. Great staff, rooms were perfect. Big soft fluffy towels. Great restaurant and amazing views of San Sebastian.
Stayed 3 nights instead of 1!

Beautiful views but not 4-star standard

This is not a 4 -star hotel. However amazing views and located beautifully in the mountains, and surrounded by nature, but the standard was not the best and breakfast boring. The room has not been updated in a few years you can tell. Old furniture.

Disappointing

The Hotel is located on Mount Igueldo, and the enclave is beautiful. The super friendly reception staff... I can't say the same for those dealing with the cafeteria and buffet.
In my opinion if you are in this hotel and the weather is not accompanying, and you feel tired of the whole day en route... you are unable to get back in the car to save the 25 minutes that separate you from the city center, to go to dinner, and you find yourself "trapped" in the cafeteria of the Hotel, with bad service and a dinner of "survival" quite precarious.
Let’s not talk about breakfast... the first day (as I love buffets) we went to the buffet, with a cost of 12,50 € per person.... nefarious... painful... of a very low quality. Only coffee was saved, since they had Nespresso machines.
Of course the next day we went to the cafeteria where I ordered a hot “bikini” sandwich (I specified them)... and they brought me the bikini from the counter that “I had only seen the paella” 30 seconds... not if they deigned to put butter and the cheese to melt... a total disaster. Friends we were with thought the same thing.
Large but discreet rooms with monastic decor... worse clean.
Anyway... a shame to stay at this hotel.

Tired but parking & views made up for it.

We stayed here for 3n with our dog in September and had a lovey time - reviewed as 3 stars based on the facilities but it could easily be improved - the hotel has clearly seen better days and a spruce-up would make all the difference.
We stayed in in an ocean view room on a corner & the views were fabulous … virtually surrounded by the ocean with big windows opening all the way - lovely sunrises! Big comfy bed & lots of space & storage, the small fridge was welcome. Bathroom quite large & clean with a bath & shower (spa bath - shame the jets didn’t work though!)
The terrace downstairs had great views of the mountains & the bay of San Sebastián.
Great for the dog too! The reception staff esp Helmui and Maile were incredibly helpful
Car parking was plentiful and safe
The bus route is a steep 10m walk but runs every 20m, easy & cheap (dogs on laps)
Downsides
No coffee or tea making in room, and no water either
Breakfast is €12.5 extra, basic and fairly low quality, though they had some decent GF bread on request & a nespresso machine so coffee was plentiful. The restaurant/bar staff were OK but hardly welcoming
Pool looked OK but wasn’t open, regardless of heat (though this was towards end September)

Excellent hotel overlooking San Sebastian

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the recent holiday in the Spanish Basque Country. The hotel is very nice, is located in a beautiful location on Mount Idalgo outside San Sebastian, surrounded by a beautiful lush and well-kept garden. We did not use the pool for the bad season. The interior is well-kept with ample spaces for reception, bar and restaurant, of which I can not give comments not having used them. The spacious room, with large and comfortable bed, beautiful sea view. Great bathroom with bath / shower and also the bidet, not so obvious even in Spain. The staff at the reception very nice and helpful. Large and free hotel parking. Better to get around by car, but if you want with a good walk of 700 meters you get to the bus stop to the center of the town. I do not understand the negative reviews, for me it is highly recommended.
