Für eine Nacht ok
Alles im Allem eine Unterkunft für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend. Frühstück ok, aber nichts besonderes. Betten nicht durchgelegen. Mein Zimmer war sehr ruhig gelegen. Personal sehr freundlich.
Nicht gefallen: Sauberkeit verbesserungswürdig. Fliegen lagen am Boden herum. In der Toilette war etwas undicht, konnte keiner gerufen werden, da kein Personal mehr vor Ort.

Food ok, but once enough
On our way through we made a stop at Hollis Rasthaus, as according to the internet food from the field kitchen was to be offered here. In reality, we found a typical rest house for truck drivers, functionally furnished, located right next to a truck parking lot at the motorway entrance in Sangerhausen.
In addition to the typical schnitzel/currywurst fries, there were also a few field kitchen dishes. We opted for goulash with noodles, as well as kettle goulash with rolls, which we liked and from the portion was also very sufficient.
The service was not particularly friendly and verbose, seemed annoyed/overwhelmed even when ordering. The cleanliness of the restaurant also had room for improvement.
The food was ok, but next time we would prefer a real field kitchen, as you find in some parking lots in the East Harz, to this ambience.

Bad service
We booked a room on the website of booking. We got a mail around 8.40 that we were expected at the hotel before 9. We were at the hotel at 8.50. Eveything was dark, no cars were parked, there was a signe that the hotel was closed.
We searched another hotel in the neighbourhoud, cancelled the reservation because it was obviously a mistake on the website.
We got a mail that the money would not be returned? Next day we went to the hotel. They insured us that they didn't get the money and we should call booking for the money. So we did, booking called to te the hotel. But the hotel changed its mind, and wouldn't gave the money back.
We searched another hotel in the neighbourhoud, cancelled the reservation because it was obviously a mistake on the website.

Very bad experience: big lack of hospitality at Holli's Rasthaus
On the evening of August 29th, we were looking for a place to stay the night. Searching the internet, we found Holli's Rasthaus. After checking the availability by phone, we tried to find the hotel. The woman I spoke to, was not very friendly and said that she would leave at 09.30 PM. So we had to hurry.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find the hotel, although we were using Google Maps. So I called the hotel again and the unfriendly voice at the other end of the line told me that the address is not correctly mentioned on Google/Booking.com and she tried to give us directions for reaching the hotel. Alas, her directions were so unspecific, that I had to call her again. After being unfriendly again at the phone, she hang up out of a sudden!
Trying to find the hotel by ourselves, we arrived at 09.30 PM. Since we had no cash and the hotel doesn't accept cards, I told the unfriendly woman behind the desk that we would go to the nearest ATM tomorrow. Then she started to be be unfriendly again and said we had to pay cash in advance. On my response that she didn't tell us this on the phone, but that I was happy to go to the nearest ATM right now, she made clear that this wasn't possible, because the desk closes at 09.30 PM. When I asked why we couldn't pay tomorrow at checkout (which is pretty common in my experience), she spoke the most unbelievable words 'Then you will be gone tomorrow'!!!
So end of story: we had to go looking for an other hotel at 09.30 PM (and actually, we wanted to do so after this inhospitable and rude treatment).
Fortunately, we eventually found one and experienced that hospitality does exist in Germany; only not at Holli's Rasthaus.

Preisgünstig mit schlechtem Service
- einzig freie Unterkunft zur "Rosenfest-Zeit" Ende Juli
- Lage ca. 3 km Rosarium, Innenstadt
- sehr preisgünstig / Preis - Leistung für nur 58€ passt
- kleine Zimmer mit Dusche und TV. Für 1-2 Nächte ausreichend
- Service leider nicht freundlich und durch ständige LKW-Fahrer auch sehr beschäftigt.
Achtung bei tel. Reservierung: Wir waren nicht in der Liste eingetragen! und hatten Glück, an den Tagen noch 2 freie Unterkünfte (Wochenende) zu bekommen. Daher Buchung per Mail/Internet!
