Very good location
Right in the city center and with covered parking, this Pension is a pleasant discovery for us who did not want to use the car during our stay.
Also bus transport throughout the city is included in the Award of rooms, it is an undeniable +.
Otherwise, you have to love the rather retro decoration of the small rooms. They are very clean and perfectly equipped, and sufficiently soundproofed not to be disturbed by the boulevard.
The welcome and service are perfect, and the breakfast, very full, served in a room from another time!!

Family-run and well-located
We had a very memorable three-night stay at this hotel. The building is certainly distinctive (in pink!) and upon entering, you walk upstairs to the reception and restaurant on the first level. We had booked a parking spot, and my husband was shown into their small garage, just underneath the hotel. The hospitality offered here was warm and unmistakably old-fashioned. We mostly dealt with two older sisters, who had been doing what they do for many decades. They only spoke German, and we did notice that the other guests were almost all German-speaking. A generous breakfast spread was served in the traditional German restaurant complete with white tablecloths and tea or coffee, brought to the table in silverware. Our room (perhaps recently renovated) was, in stark contrast, minimalist, modern and generic, but also comfortable clean and perfectly adequate. The location was fantastic, with plenty of local restaurants, a shopping mall just next door and everything in Konstanz an easy walk away. All in all, an authentic German hospitality experience with loads of character and a convenient location.

Comfortable and Central
We stayed here for 6 nights and found this Hotel to be just as we wanted. We had no need to get a taxi from the Railway Station to the Hotel as it was a short walk away. No lift in the Hotel, the reception is on the first floor and our room was on the second floor so cases had to be carried to these levels. It is a traditional family run Hotel with caring service. There is no air conditioning but a large fan was provided in the room. The room was to the rear so no street noise and it was of suitable size and clean. Breakfast was of a good variety and the Dining Room served as a Restaurant, for evenings. The location is ideal to walk to the Station, Harbour, Shops and all sorts of eating places.

Better than Expected
Having seen Goldener Sternen listed as a modest, one star hotel on another popular site, we were hesitant to book here.
We booked anyway because of the location, parking availability and moderate price.
Even though it's on the main road, we missed spotting it as they'd changed the exterior color.
Arrival and parking were tricky, as they never answered the phone. We had to park briefly on the street (with all the difficulty of finding a space) and run to the hotel to get the proprietor to open the garage.
The room, while a bit dated, was clean and comfortable - fine for two people and weekend luggage. The bath was small, but spotless, with adequate towels, soap and hot water.
The breakfast was better than average for a small place, with several breads and rolls, many cheeses and coldcuts, and best of all - smoked fish. The only warm food was boiled eggs on Sunday.
We had dinner at the restaurant, as well, and were quite satisfied.
We'd stay at Goldener Sternen again should we visit Konstanz.

Excellent
Just returned from our 5 day break to Konstanz. Had a delightful stay at this hotel. We received a wonderful warm welcome from the proprietor Angela, who made us feel very special, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful, which set us up for the day. This hotel is convenient for train station, buses, shops and the beautiful lake. Evening meal was lovely too. This traditional family run hotel is well worth a stay. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful, it was such a joy to meet Angela. This certainly made our visit to Konstanz memorable. If you want the personal touch with high standards this hotel is a must.
