Fabulous Austria Trip and Destination Wedding Event

My wife and I were privileged to be invited to our friends’ wedding at the Burg Hotel, Museum and wonderful restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the chef’s 4-course menu two consecutive nights, and each night he and his lovely wife made certain we never ate the same item, although there was no actual menu.
The entire staff was both friendly and helpful, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Rarely have we been able to enjoy a stay in such a beautiful location where we have felt welcomed as if we were family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

enjoy styria's best

We decided to spend a weekend in the austrian part of Styria (Steiermark) and chose this property SW from Graz. We strongly recommend it to those who'd like to enjoy the taste of the country. If you explore Austria by car or bike, this is the right place to stay for a while. Although the small town Deutschlandsberg is nothing special, it is set among rolling green hills with forests and vineyards and makes a lovely point to explore the region. There are quite a few possibilities to stay, but we chose the castle hotel and are very happy about it. Cosy rooms in the setting of an old castle, upgraded with a superb restaurant - what else do you need to spoil yourself... The hotel/restaurant staff are all very kind and helpful. Rooms are well equipped, mostly with a lovely view on the country. You can easily get a room in the town for half the price, but I think that the Burg Hotel is worth every penny.
Add a delicious dinner by candlelight in the hotel restaurant. The food is "fusion" enriched with local particularities. Start with a glas of "schilcher" and then let things go. The evening we've been there, there was salmon in 4 ways as the first plate and highland cow fillet as the main. Although Austrians are famous for their sweets, the dessert did well above expectations. Everything was escorted by a bottle of local sauvignon that was one of the best, too.
Breakfast was delicious, too, as all the ingredients are carefully chosen from local producers. One of the best ever...

What a great place to stay and eat

Even though they closed the check inn at 8 o’clock and I’ve arrived at way past that they went out of their way to give me a room. The restaurant was also closing but they still found me a table and the food was just amazing, but most of all the five members of the staff I’ve encountered were all extremely qualified and trained but also very friendly. The price was extremely low for if you consider location and for being a castle and for the very high quality of the food. The bathroom was new and clean and practical the bed very good. But the layout and furniture of the room otherwise Was dated. To be honest it was a little bit hot in the room and I didn’t figure out how to make it cooler. All in all a fantastic stay. Oh and they let me park my bike just in front.

Una nuova esperienza

Il Burg hotel è situato in un’ala del castello di Deutschlandsberg. L’esperienza è stata positiva vista la location suggestiva e la gentilezza del personale, cosa rara a Vienna.
La camera era ben arredata, con stile, sebbene alcuni mobili fossero più vecchiotti che antichi. Non essendoci l’ascensore, non sarebbe male offrire un servizio per aiutare con i bagagli.
Dati i servizi offerti, non lo definirei un 4 stelle, considerando i 128 € pagati eccessivi. Il prezzo comprendeva anche la colazione di cui sono rimasto soddisfatto, nonostante il buffet piuttosto limitato ma con una discreta scelta.

Séjour de 3 jours ,fin mai 2019 , couple de plus de 70 ans .

Nous avons passé 3 nuits , fin mai 2019 , dans ce château-hôtel merveillement situé sur les hauteurs de Deutschlandsberg au sein d'une région dont les vignobles sont à découvrir.
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le confort de la chambre que nous avions choisie ( douche et jaccuzzi ) ainsi que le petit-déjeuner particulièrement varié ( fruits frais , jus de fruits , fromages et jambons locaux .
D'autre part , le menu qui nous a été proposé le soir mérite le détour ainsi que les vins locaux qui nous ont été suggérés à la la dégustation . Le tout , assuré par un service parfait . M.&Mme Leroy , Bruxelles .
