This was a very nice hotel for our quick one night stay. The entire place was clean and comfortable.
The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our group. All hotels should offer this!
Loved the amount of shampoo and conditioner!
The walls were thin and the guy yelling at his kids on the shared wall was unpleasant. But can’t help people have no manners.

Bait and Switch Rates

I will start by saying I would not recommend Staybridge Suites Grandville (Thrive Hospitality Group) due to unethical business practices, poor customer service, and poor conflict resolution. We booked our stay for June 2025 about 6 months in advance for a concert weekend. I contacted the hotel the morning of check-in regarding early check-in and was not informed of any issues. Upon arrival we were informed that with no notice one of the two rooms booked was canceled without any notice. The desk clerk Lori stated there was a card issue, however they still had rooms available at the current rate which was $299/night versus the booked rate of $179/night. We asked to speak with the GM, he was currently unavailable, so we waited for him to become available. While waiting we checked on the availability of other IHG hotels in the area, all were sold out due to multiple events in the area. During this waiting period the rate for the room went from $299/night to $339/night. Also, while waiting we reached out to IHG’s Diamond Customer service for a resolution. When the GM was available, his name was MG, we discussed it with him, and he stated there was nothing he could do with reinstating the original rate however he could bump it back to the $299/night rate. While we were speaking with him, we were also on the line with IHG customer service, and they had authorized him to use the initial rate and/or book the room with points. After some back and forth he refused to do either. IHG Customer Service attempted to contact him directly and he avoided speaking with them while we were at the desk. Ultimately, we booked the room for $299/night as there weren’t any other options (we used the same card as it was booked originally with no issues). I had asked Lori for a business card with contact info, she stated she didn’t think they had any and acted as if she was looking through drawers for one. Upon check-out I asked the gentleman at the desk for one and he knew right where they were and handed me one (top drawer to left of computer terminal). MG and Lori’s overall attitude and demeanor were poor and condescending, leadership starts at the top and the employees follow MG’s poor leadership. Even the girl working at the desk at night acted very bothered when asked for extra towels. In speaking with other guests while sitting on the patio area others had experienced similar situations with cancelled rooms and increases in rates.
The room itself was ok, not a $300/night room though. It was not very clean, lots of hair around the sink from previous person shaving, floor not vacuumed, and countertop in kitchen was dirty. If staying in the area I would stay anywhere else.

Everything was great except the pool was much too cold to be swum in. The jets on the hot tub did not appear to be working but the water was a good temperature.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful breakfast and a happy hour with dinner! Everyone was very kind and our room was perfect for this trip.

This is a family and pet friendly hotel. The employees are so friendly. Especially the woman who checked us in. I did not catch her name, but she does a wonderful job.
