Fair Fairfield INN in Frederick ,Maryland

Stayed here while visiting friends in the area. The rooms were clean but smaller than some hotel rooms { if you had 4 people staying in our room it would be crowded} . Mattress was firmer than I like . Bathroom was clean. Tub had a decent grab bar unlike some other hotels where I have visited. They advertise an indoor pool but it was taken out and they are putting a lounge in which was disappointing as that is part of the reason I booked to stay here. { please update your website} Breakfast was good and offered many food selections both hot and cold. { waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal . etc] Staff was friendly and offered extra pillows for us to be more comfortable since all the beds were same mattress type and newly replaced. Hotel has close parking and is also close to highway but away from highway noise. If I had to stay in Frederick in the future , I guess I wouldnt rule out staying here as it was very clean, they had nice staff and good breakfast but will also consider other options due to mattresses being firmer.

The hotel is bright and clean. The location is good - near a lot but far enough from the highway to be quiet. 4 starts instead of 5 because of the breakfast - the eggs were too salty, and the delicious looking breakfast sandwiches were freezing cold in the middle. And the coffee was weak and not hot.

This was my first hotel stay in 3 years, and I was looking forward to quiet luxury, but the Fairfield wasn't it. When I arrived at the Fairfield, there was yellow tape completely surrounding the entrance, with no signage of where I should go to get in. I parked and walked around the building and found a side entrance propped open by the construction workers, so went in there. The entire 1st floor seemed to be under construction. There was a not-very-friendly clerk who checked me in, who with no other explanation said there is construction, a breakfast bar (didn't say where it was in the building) but that we could also use across the parking lot's hotel for breakfast, and handed me my room keys with no guidance of where to park or apologies for the inconvenience of the construction.
The room itself was fine: updated and clean. Nice shower waterpressure (although I was hoping for a bathtub to soak), but the room was clean. Mattress was not the most supportive. The breakfast across the parking lot in the Residence Inn was fabulous: lots of hot choices and GREAT belgium waffles. At check out the clerk apologized for any inconvenince but said the construction was posted on the website. I looked for it, and yes, it is there but not prominent-if you scroll down the page it is 'Reno' and short desciription. Easy to miss, and why not put that front and center in bigger letters, with Renovation spelled out, with directions where to park? Or, close it completely during renovations?

Nothing to write home about

First of all, this is a Fairfield Inn, so my expectations were limited. We were there for a wedding (there were three weddings in the hotel on a Saturday).
Everything about the hotel is fine but nothing special. The amenities include bar of soap, that’s about it. The room was tired, but clean. I did hear guests coming and going at all hours but the location itself is quiet.
There is a little refrigerator and snacks for sale in the lobby, which is good. Across the street from the hotel is an outside mall with shopping and restaurants.
Coffee was decent. I didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked like standard motel fare, kind of gross.
If you have low expections, you won’t be disappointed.
