Great B&B!

St Francis Inn has charm, a sense of community, and great staff. Close to everything. Breakfast was unique and fun each day and their special evening snacks were great. We stayed in the “haunted” Lily’s room…and survived! No, honesty, this is a fun and historic b&b. One couple said they have been coming back many years, so you know its a place to come back to. Bedding was nice. Expect unique and fun.

Not what we were expecting for the money

This was my wife's first vacation in 10 years due to illness. We were so excited to get away for a few nights to relax and see Saint Augustine.
When we went to check in, we were expecting to be greeted warmly being this was a B&B. The innkeeper was a young lady hidden in a part of the front desk that you could not see. She seemed little interested in making us feel welcome.
Our $300 a night suite was on the third floor ( please warn guest that the staircase could be dangerous to an older person). When we entered the room, we were really disappointed. It lacked the charm and
Homeliness we were expecting.
The amenities were nice, they included breakfast, happy hour( even though no one seemed to be happy). They did have nightly desserts.
We stayed 2 nights out of the 3 nights originally planned. After the first full day in Saint Augustine, we decided we did not want to spend another night at this B&B. It was too late in the evening to drive home 4 hours so we stayed. I did go down to the in-keeper to ask if we could cancel the 3rd night, she only asked why after she had processed our credit. When she asked why, and I told her this did not feel like a happy place, no response. It was nice that they did credit us the one night, I mean that.
This was the first time I was so happy to come home from a vacation!
I did the research before I booked our room, they had great reviews, except for 15 which I thought was good.
Maybe our expectations were too high, this was just our experience there .

Beautiful, quiet and exceptional service. Modern conveniences with true Old World charm.

Our stay here was amazing. The Wilson Suite was very clean and well appointed for a building (annex across the street) built in the 1800s. Rooms have the charm of the period, but also there is central AC, Smart TVs, and a wonderful jetted whirlpool tub. We stayed in the Wilson Suite and really enjoyed sitting on the private balcony over looking the street and just listening to the birds and watching the world below. St Francis Inn is located further down from the center of town, so it is away from the bustle of tourists during the weekend, but its still a short walk to city center. The hospitality at the inn was great with all inclusive breakfast, desserts at night, and water, sodas, coffee any time you wanted them during the day. The pool was the perfect temp and was relaxing. We really enjoyed the charm and old world style the Inn has while still having all the modern conveniences. We particularly enjoyed trying to spot the Inn cats outside, and finding the fluffy and tired Houdini always laying around taking a nap. Staff were always available and we never had to wait for a request to be fulfilled. As a local Floridian who has been to St Aug. many many times, I can't believe we didn't stay in St Francis Inn sooner, and we will definitely be back again!

Feeling like in a beloved family

St. Francis Inn is an ancient Inn, which makes you feel welcomed, comfortable and close to the owners and other people. It is in walking distance (10-15 min) to the historic district St. Augustine via lovely coble-stoned streets. St. Francis Inn offers complimentary coffee, tee, water, afternoon soft drinks, beer or wine & snacks and as a suprise even a complimentary dessert at the evening (the peanut cookies were delicious). Breakfast offers new variety (warm and cold) each day, fruits, yogurt, cereals, jam, ...
I loved the garden. A wonderful place to relax in quiet or to come into contact with other guests, (which we did - thanks Ken and Laure - we had a wonderful time meeting with you)
We stayed in Margrets Room, which is old and cosy, with own patio and own bathroom. Due to the whirlpool the entry to the shower is a little bit higher, but even if someone is not very stable, you can get in there. Windows are good, no noise from the bypassing small street. Only the power outlet to load a phone overnight on one side is a bit far away from bed, some extension would be nice.
We loved our days there and can recommend staying in the inn.

Just Wonderful

Excellent place- So so beautiful. Excellent location. Highly recommend. Only down side it was pricey- but well worth it. The breakfast on the morning was excellent as well. Five stars
