just as big and just as good

is cold in the winter even though the price is affordable and very large rooms and you can also news all the time but the bathroom is cool:-(
I was cold there at the rea of it but the service is good, the two boys down there don't be miserly to complete a good deal as expected (the order) via finn.no it's very difficult for me to find it and not either the cab driver that went around many taper streets in the city and could not find a hotel called Ubay:-(
Fortunately, he had to get hold of a friend on the phone at the end as he found it and did not rather so easy for everyone to find it forward even though down by Central's streets in the city, lose the road is exciting and:-(location really fun experience one can repeat in the future with a friend and is nearby the national television and the Parliament and many famous shops and Exchange agencies and old town with only a few skritter away.
porch and no one can destroy the mood have (tea, water, and heat a cup of coffee or bring a beer from down by the bar), and sit and enjoy many houses in front but the majority are fun to experience and older children quality education.
Financial shops that can get your mood and self-esteem in the face when you can act a bag with a lot of chocolate and a lot of different small Moroccan dishes and biscuits and cigarettes or batteries for flashlight or walkman. ... that one can live the romance is really correct hotel and location for about the evenings with the possibility to choose among different other Arab open kaffee ' r in the area and hear the Middle east side music go eat many variant of cakes or traditional small bread ...
one thing that is important and must take care to was robbed in as long as you go down the street and continues towards another world can suddenly became thefts and other weird events that one can not keep pace and the mood in the high level:-(
Wonderful experience as well as made new friends at the hotel but it does not provide high change when should get more than a week or two weeks at this place but it was a short visit will not notice much change while I'm after many days for. ..
Start and book and it will be a shame to leave!
still miss the hotel area

Good Hotel and nice price

I went to Rabat for a Tennis Tournament with my players. The rooms are big, and looked clean. Could have more light but it's good. The beds are a little bit small but very confortable. The staff was very nice and helped us a lot, specially the one that speaks better english. The rest of the staff speaks bad english or doesn't speak. The hotel has a restaurant and the food is ok but most of the time they didn't have all the plates or the quantities for all of us to have the same. In general is a nice place to stay and it's a 10 min walk to the medina market.

DO NOT STAY HERE THEY LOCKED US IN THE HALL TO GET MONEY FROM US!

I booked via Booking.com I arrived with my friend and they gave us the key of the room after asking only for my passport. I had booked a twin room for € 57.95 plus € 5.80 booking fee. After a few minutes in the room, they called us to ask for the ID of my friend and the certificate of marriage, which we don't have as we are family friends, we are not together nor married. Upon suggestion of the receptionist, I cancelled the reservation via booking and received a confirmation of the cancellation for € 0 (I specifically booked with free cancellation as we were not sure if we were going to stay in Rabat). After that, the receptionist said that we had to pay for the room even though we did not used it. When I refused, they LOCKED US IN THE HALL FOR 4 HOURS and I called my consulate alerting them of the situation. When the manager arrived, I had to pay for the room so that they would let us out. We went to the police to report them. I am awaiting the outcome of the events. Please private message me if you wish any detail.
I should be reimbursed by Booking and I have requested that this Hotel is taken away the Agreement with Booking.com.
The police was apparently aware of this Hotel, that means it is not the first time something similar happens. If you have had bad experiences here, PLEASE REPORT THEM! It is the only way to help other travelers.
Staff does not speak English, lied all the way even to my consulate.
They were all extremely rude, from the cleaning lady to the manager.
For what I have seen of the room i is not even worth the price, you can find much better for less in Rabat.
DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HOLIDAY TO BE RUINED!

Dreadful Place

Not recommended. Overpriced. Cold impersonal place with sullen couldnt care less staff. No wifi in room. Lots of noise from hotel bar until very late. No breakfast. Then they add hidden undeclared charges on checkout. Keep well away.

Has great potential

I spent two nights at the Ubay for a work related trip. First, the hotel was a little hard to find. Definitely don't try to enter through the door under the "Ubay Hotel" sign. That's not the hotel. The entrance is around the corner. The receptionist, like all the other staff I met, was very nice and welcoming. This is one of the Ubay's biggest assets. The room was fine if very minimalist in decor. Pale gray walls, white linen, and a splash of color from one orange armchair. No carpets, which keeps the room cleaner but makes it seem very cold. My room had a small balcony - unfurnished. The bathroom is also minimalist. A shower, sink, and toilet. I wish there had been a shelf or some place to store toiletries.
On the negative side, the halls of the hotel are very, very dark. Yes, there are light switches at all the rooms, but these are on a timer and you need to be pretty quick with the keys not to be left in the dark. It doesn't foster a feeling of security for a woman traveling alone. The other negative was the total lack of wifi. Hard to believe that a hotel in the administrative center of a capital city can't provide wifi services. The staff kept promising that the wifi would be fixed, but since I was there over a weekend, I doubted that anyone would come to fix it. And I was right.
The hotel does serve breakfast in the bar; there is also dinner service and live music some nights.
The hotel is certainly in a good location both for business and tourism. It's an easy walk to the main train station, the museums, the tram, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. It is clean and the staff is friendly and warm. With a little work on the lighting and the wifi, the hotel could be very good.
