Dissaponting
Let's start with the good things.
The room was clean.
The bed was comfortable
There was a Nespresso machine, so good coffee
The food, in the restaurant was good.
The staff, even though there were very few of them, were excellent, Aaron, in particular, did his best to make our stay as good as it could be and he was great.
Now on to the rest.
We arrived and there was a note on the door with a number to call to check in.
There was a member of staff in the hotel at the time and we managed to check in (apparently the owners were on holiday). We were cool with that and were happy to chill in our room for a little while.
The TV didn't work. This might seem a minor thing but we just wanted some music or mindless TV in the background while we unwound. Aaron tried but couldn't get it to do anything, eventually, we spotted an Amazon Firestick plugged in the back and logged in with our own account to be able to watch/listen to something.
The evening meal was lovely and the service was great.
The TV was annoying but we would have forgotten about it if we hadn't had a cold shower in the morning. Apparently, the boiler was playing up and needed to be rebooted. It hadn't been rebooted when we had our showers at 7 am. It wasn't just cool it was cold and something as basic as being able to have a shower is a huge black mark from me.
Breakfast was nice and Aaron and the Chef (I think his name was Paul) did everything they could to make it good. It tasted lovely but we were sitting in a restaurant with dead flies on the windowsill and a collection of Spiders, and cobwebs who were probably responsible for sorting the flies out. It's not the standard I expected for a hotel that we paid £164 (B&B) for one night.
We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and my husband wanted to book somewhere nicer than my normal 'go-to' Premier Inn so it was disappointing.
I want to stress how hard the guys that were there tried to make it a nice stay but would I stay there again? Sorry, but it would have to be a no.

Very good
Must say we all really enjoyed our evening meal - get the impression the chef is pretty talented. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. A great package
