Great staff

One thing you can’t fault is the staff, especially those in the restaurant and the lady behind reception. All of them were super friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The hotel itself is nice but as others have said needs a refurb, looks like half the rooms have been, the others are very dated. The swimming pool is no longer there either although photos online suggest it is.
The food was amazing, you cannot fault this at all and the bar prices were reasonable, just not a wide variety of drinks.
Downside is it’s a bit far from the beach and a steep climb to get back, also no local shops nearby so to have papers or other little bits available at the hotel would have been nice.

Fantastic

I cannot fault it very comfortable beds the staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly, food was absolutely lovely and what a beautiful building old and rustic with great character with some amazing gardens but the staff and the entertainment makes it a real friendly atmosphere

The hotel is not too far from the centre of Sandown but is next to a park so it's actually very quiet (which is very nice). The staff is professional and welcoming and the hotel has a lot to offer. Good price!

Faulty dirty towers

What a dump, room was old and tired and had previous occupants body hair everywhere, restaurant was only open from 18:00 to 18:30 with a set menu, the cook was swearing about orders getting taken at 18:25. Food was sent back to the kitchen cold, then the ping of the microwave was heard and back out of the kitchen it was sent.
Avoid this place, like Faulty Towers with dirt added for extras.

Too many chairs in the lounge and bar with sides,not ideal for large people as we can't sit in them
